Mountaineer

Before studying Zen mountains were mtns.
            a landscape unfolding
            mine own—the cry apostrophe at Pacific
                        edge—“Pacific Spring”

While studying Zen mountains—
            is practitioner? practices?  have then,
              have you entered into the passage to
              circumambulate, to cross-over into, or away

(to Captain Delano, in a violent rushing fear, “past,
            present, and future seemed one”   mountain)

After studying Zen mountains were mtns.—
            permitted, and becoming, the anecdote, koan,
            permitting a pedagogy—
                                                to be told
            during now a summer study, so greeny, after after
            
                                                                            a Pacific rolling “meadow”
