Such A Good Invention:
Yehuda Amichai’s Poetry as Travel Journal

I am a doctoral student in Literary Studies at York University in Toronto, Canada. My thesis, “The Opposite of Reading”, is a study of how poetry is read and used in literature curricula and classrooms. Prior to the PhD, I worked as a journalist and elementary school teacher. I’ve taught from grades 4 up to teacher’s college. My interests include psychoanalysis, life writing, literature of all genres and education. I am a passionate advocate of the art of reading poetry and the possibilities our minds offer us for living creatively human lives.
