Evie Shockley is the author of a half-red sea (2006) and a chapbook, The Gorgon Goddess (2001), both published by Carolina Wren Press. Her poetry, fiction, and literary criticism have appeared widely in journals and anthologies. Shockley recently guest-edited a special issue of MiPOesias featuring contemporary African American poetry, and is serving as a guest editor of two forthcoming issues of jubilat. She teaches African American literature and creative writing at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ.
