Catherine Strisik has been active in the writing community of Taos, New Mexico
for twenty-five years as a teacher, mentor, and poetry group workshop leader.
She was awarded the Southwest Literary Center's 2006 Discovery Award in poetry
for an excerpt from Thousand-Cricket Song, poems reflective of her Cambodian
experience that is forthcoming from Plain View Press.
Some publications include Comstock Review (honorable mention), Northwest Review,
5Am, Sulphur River, Tusculum Review, War, Literature and the Arts, Peregrine
(first place poetry prize), House Organ. Her manuscript, Molt Violet has
placed as finalist in national contests such as Vassar Miller Poetry Prize
and Cleveland State University Press.
