Douglas Kerr lives near Stanford University in California where he received his doctorate studying poetry and poetics. He lives with his two sons and wife, teaches literature, and hikes in the high country whenever possible. His friend David, to whom the poem "Suspicions, Homeward" is addressed, continues to live in Olomouc, Czech Republic, and to teach at the university there.
